Where do I go to get a vaccine?
At Town Center Family Practice, we can provide an array of vaccines that you and your family need. From travel vaccines to basic immunizations that your kids may need for college, we can set you up with an appointment to provide all of the necessary shots.
Our appointments to administer vaccines will usually start with a discussion of your personal health history, as well as which vaccines you or your family members may have already received, and how many doses. This is why it’s a good idea for you to access that information before the appointment, if possible. We will also go over which vaccines you need, discuss allergies and potential reactions, administer the dose, and monitor you afterwards to ensure everything is fine. At Town Center Family Practice, we pride ourselves on offering a safe, comfortable environment for you and your whole family.
Where can I get the vaccinations for travel near me?
If you need specific vaccines for travel, at Town Center Family Practice, we can help. Travel vaccinations are sometimes required by your employer or the party administering your travel, or if you are travelling to an area where there is a risk for disease or illness that is of much lower risk in North America. In many cases, you need to have these vaccinations completed over a specific period of time before your travel, and they may need to be done over multiple appointments. At Town Center Family Practice, we are able to walk you through this whole process, from determining which vaccines you need, to administering them and following up to ensure you are ready before your travel.
Why should I get my family and myself vaccinated?
Vaccines are a crucial part of not only your own healthcare, but the health of your loved ones and the wider population. Without widespread vaccination, certain life threatening illnesses, like polio and measles, would still be rampant and claiming lives, especially of our most vulnerable citizens. When enough people are inoculated against a specific illness, it essentially dies out, or is no longer able to infect enough people to disrupt and harm. The impact of not vaccinating can be seen in some countries where resources and access to vaccinations are lacking, and diseases with a vaccine available are still circulating and posing risk to its citizens.
It’s also very important to vaccinate against illnesses that may not be as destructive or serious to most people, such as the seasonal flu. As we’ve learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, viruses can spread quickly and wreak havoc, and by vaccinating, you are protecting not only yourself but others, by not continuing to knowingly or unknowingly spread the virus.
What vaccines do you offer?
At Town Center Family Practice, we offer most essential vaccines that you or your child may need, including:
